After April 2, freedom is more than a word to me :D…
so I go over my collections and choose novels that will suit me best. For
almost a week, I finished 3 books: James Patterson’s The Lifeguard and Hide
& Seek; and Steve Martini’s The Guardian of Lies. All novels are suspense,
psychological and crime.
Patterson’s The Lifeguard is a story about... well…
a lifeguard. The story is set in Florida where Ned Kelly met the woman of his
dreams, Tess, a rich bitch who amazingly in love din sa kanya. Ned grew in a
family of crooks pero he was trying to live accordingly. His cousins invited
him to a one shot can’t miss deal that could change his life. Magnanakaw sila
ng paintings sa house ng isa sa pinkamayaman sa place nila. But, life’s absurd
and played a joke on his group. Na set up ang group ni Ned. Unknown to him, at
the same moment, pinatay si Tess. Pinatay din buong grupo nya and he was
accused of the two murders. So, pano na? how can he proved that he’s innocent?
Astig yung story, fast paced. No boring moments. So I
finished the whole book in one night, walang tulugan. Adik mode.
Next book by the same author, Hide & Seek. A
story about a battered wife who was accused of killing her TWO husbands. Her
husbands were both psychologically sick. I’ll do the same if I’m in her shoes.
Guardian of Lies is based the story in history. It’s
a story of terrorism. Maaksyon ang novel, para akong nanunuod ng action movie.
Got until May of my freedom, so I’m planning to read
more. This way, I go places, I meet people without spending money at naka-bed-ridden
mode.
Planning to re-read Stephen King’s Night Shift,
continue reading Greor Mcguire’s Confessions of an Ugly Stepsister and the War
of Ancients Trilogy and of course, write my Master’s Thesis.
